As I panic about our unexpected snow storm that has me unable to drive to the office to work, or pick up my pre-ordered turkey from the specialty store next door to my office.... your post just reminded me that even if we eat peanut butter sandwiches and pumpkin pie, we are blessed and have much to be thankful for. Thanks for a great reminder. Prayers for your friends and their families.
Awww....this post made me teary eyed, but in a good way. Thanks for the support...it's good to know I have so many people sending positive thoughts my way. I'll keep your other friends in my prayers. While there are tough times, I keep thinking of all the stuff I'm thankful for. Have a great Thanksgiving!
We all should be thankful for what we have and who we have with us. My daughter's school just lost a teacher to a tragic car accident. Both him and his wife died. The funeral is today.
My oldest was born three months (13 weeks) premature. He didn't need heart surgery, but I knew others who did. And they're very healthy kids now. :D
What put things in perspective for me, was seeing how many mothers never got to take their babies home. Ever. Or some did, but the baby eventually died (which they knew was going to happen). I hated it when new mothers whined about how their babies were keeping them up at night (like all babies do). They didn't realize how lucky they were.
What a mixed post, so sad and yet so joyous. A belated happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, amen to good family and friends and all the positive things in life.
Also wanted to tell you, I added your Tags-n-Stones widget to my blog under "The Holidays Are Here!!" You've been so great and I wanted to return the favor a bit...
