By the next morning the sun was shining and we woke to a wondrous sight.
The tree branches were coated with ice, and against the brilliance of the sun, they looked like millions of sparkling crystals dotting the horizon.
Everyone I ran into that day kept looking to the sky, in awe of the beauty of mother nature.
I tried taking some pictures of the trees but they didn't do it justice! *sigh* You'll just have to take my word for it!
Today is another blizzard and schools are closed again. I'm raising my white flag, Mother Nature!
ENJOY YOU WEEKEND!

Why is it that destruction can be so beautiful!!!!
Happy Weekend!
Gorgeous! I always kick myself for not having a camera with me when it looks like that outside. We've had quite the winter here in CT- wonder if your blizzard will look anything like this when all is said and done!

The photos are fab! We've had those ice storms up here. Pretty scary while their biting, but once they calm what they leave behind is beautiful.
We're supposed to be having a Nor'Easter, right now. Not a stitch has fallen...yet.
Enjoy your weekend!
When I lived further north I remember an ice storm that soaked the trees like this and it was SO beautiful. Pictures never do it justice but having seen it, I know it's gorgeous.
Now, living in the South, I don't see much winter and I'm cool with that. Especially after they kind of winter the country has had this year.
Have a great weekend, I hope the blizzard is staved off by something wonderful! Stay warm :D
IT is beautiful when this happens. Will this winter ever let up?
Things have been slightly calmer since our blizzard three weeks ago, but we did get another few inches of thundersnow last night.

You can tell what's going on in the middle picture. Beautiful.
If I don't have to drive in it, I also love ice storms. Beautiful.

haha - aren't diamonds nature's diamonds? ;)
Very married-- are you making fun of my title? heh heh, I work so hard on those ;)
I agree with lisaday! I loveice storms as long as we don't have to work the next day :) I would've loved to take pics of those gorgeous branches
My BF in Ohio took pictures after an ice storm too. And it looks the same. It's amazing and awesome. Sorry you are having more cancellations for school. *sigh*
WOWZA! I've seen trees look like this so I know exactly what you are talking about. I think the pictures are great. But my goodness isn't that just stunning!
I agree with Jen, sometimes destruction can be beautiful - especially in nature.
So magical! I want to write those trees into my book somehow...even though it's set in summer...
Mother Nature is really showing her stuff this winter!! I think your pictures are fabulous.
Gorgeous pictures.
I love the pictures. They're so ethereal. Hope you have a warm weekend despite the snow!
That's beautiful! Quite different from what we've got going on in Florida!
I think it is counterintuitive that something so cold is so beautiful. I miss the snow.
ah... it is beautiful.

Have a great weekend.
