Dripping Ink

“Novels aren’t just happy escapes;

they are slivers of people’s souls, nailed to the pages, dripping ink from veins of wood pulp.

Reading the right one at the right time can make all the difference.”

See you next week!

Yes! I especially feel this way while reading the book I told you about. More so because it's YA literary.

You are absolutely fabulous! I love when books can say so many things... I guess that's what makes books so brilliant as well. The words sweep you off your feet!

Happy Thursday!

So true, Christina. Though I do love just escaping in them too.

Love this! I always refer to something deep with the expression, "Down to skin and bones." This reminds me of that. (Hugs)Indigo

Oh the agony of the writer who leaves pieces of herself behind in the stories she creates: the tears, anger, frustration, insecurity, but also the awe, joy, and excitement. I'm reading Jennifer Egan's "A Visit from the Goon Squad" right now and the character hopping and time slippage between every chapter is making my brain smoke. It's heady stuff. Never seen anything like it.

So true. I always see books as more than an escape.
