Happy Weekend

I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens.

But just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.

The Layers Of Life

“The best kisses are those between lovers, because those are the consequential ones, the risky ones, the transformative ones, the ones that call the nymphs and satyrs back to life, the many-layered kisses that we dive into as into a fairy-tale frog pond or the murky gene pool of our origins.”

(Tom Robbins)

Today hubz and I are happily celebrating our eleven year anniversary!

Whoa. :D

See you next week.

Whisper To Me

May my heart always be open to little birds,

Who are the secrets of living.

-by E.E. Cummings

This weekend, listen closely. Chirp, tweet. :-)

See you next week!

Clouds come floating into my life...

No longer to carry rain or usher storm,

But to add color to my sunset sky.
(by Rabindranath Tagore)

Have a rich and vibrant Monday! XO

A Missed Opportunity

"A message in a bottle, a smoke signal, letters written in the sand, love--lost and found." That's what it says on Sophie Blackall's blog, the artist I crushed on almost two years ago in this post, for her Missed Connections drawings.

She scrawls them based on what she reads in the classifieds section. How COOL is that?

Here are some examples:

"When I put your coat collar up to protect you from the cold...

on the corner of E Houston and Bowery...

and I looked in your eyes...

I was very tempted to kiss you...

but I don't steal women from other men...
still...
I was tempted..."

"You were reading Catch-22 on the subway this morning. I have never seen such a beautiful profile. I wanted to say hi, but then you’d turn towards me and I wouldn’t be able to look at your profile anymore. You were so into your book, I don’t think you noticed me falling in love with you. But I thought I’d ask, just in case."

"i bought you that milkshake

you just didn't realize it."

AWESOME, RIGHT?

So imagine my EXCITEMENT when I saw she had a BOOK based on her drawings! It would make the perfect coffee table book and is SO on my Christmas list (if I don't buy it before then)!

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!

For Everything There Is a Season

It's been a winter wonderland around here!

Snow has a way of changing the lanscape so much so, that you lose sight of familiar things, until they pop back up in the spring.

Take this lighthouse, below, that we'd driven by all summer long on the lake (umm... when our boat wasn't under repair):

Here it is in the winter. Wild, right?

Remember to consider the seasons in your settings. Imagine what the lanscape would look like if say, your MC was somewhere in January, as opposed to June.

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!
